ALIAA ESSAM

Aliaa Essam is an Egyptian figurative painter residing in Geneva, holding a BSA degree in fine arts from the University of Helwan in Cairo. In love with texture, colour and concept, she considers women a central theme in her work.  The main subject of her paintings revolves around women in their daily lives. The strong contrast between shadow and light in her paintings represents independent and powerful women in everyday life. Her paintings are primarily done in acrylic, but she also employs various painting techniques such as oil pastels, ink, charcoal, and more.
